Nina Mehnert started her training as a woodwind builder.

The moving of production to Ottenbach.

In the mid 50s

a new method of affixing

the mechanism to the tube was developed. The usual ribs were omitted and pillars were and still are connected directly

to the tube using this technique, thus saving weight and providing definite sonic advantages.

Tino Mehnert started his training as a woodwind builder.

After WWII the

then director Franz Mehnert(1893-1978)

was attracted to Stuttgart,

where he led and developed the firm under his name.

His hands made the now legendary "thinned wood flute" of which only 10-15 instruments were built.

After Franz Mehnert's passing in 1978,

he was succeeded by

his son Hans-Jochen Mehnert.

Bernd Mehnert started his training as a woodwind builder.

Robin Mehnert started his training as a woodwind builder.

In the 1930s the trill-key flute was developed, patented and protected, and is still cherished and sought after by modern-day collectors.

Since the firm's

establishment in

1891 in Markneukirchen

by Carl August Schreiber

(1871-1931),there has been an ongoing and unrelenting commitment to the manufacture of Boehm flutes and piccolos.
