Nina Mehnert started her training as a woodwind builder.
The moving of production to Ottenbach.
In the mid 50s
a new method of affixing
the mechanism to the tube was developed. The usual ribs were omitted and pillars were and still are connected directly
to the tube using this technique,thus saving weight and providing definite sonic advantages.
Tino Mehnert started his training as a woodwind builder.
After WWII the
then director Franz Mehnert(1893-1978)
was attracted to Stuttgart,
where he led and developed the firm under his name.
His hands made the now legendary "thinned wood flute" of which only 10-15 instruments were built.
After Franz Mehnert's passing in 1978,
he was succeeded by
his son Hans-Jochen Mehnert.
Bernd Mehnert started his training as a woodwind builder.
Robin Mehnert started his training as a woodwind builder.
In the 1930s the trill-key flute was developed, patented and protected, and is still cherished and sought after by modern-day collectors.
